Requirements and Documentation

 

Professional Title Requirements

To request the granting of a professional degree in Architecture or Engineering (Civil, Industrial and Systems or Mechanical-Electrical) in the Thesis modality, the following requirements are:

1. Be a graduate of an academic program from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Piura

2. Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture.

3. Develop and approve a thesis.

To request the issuance of the Title diploma, the following requirements are required:

1. Have an Agreement from the Higher Council to obtain the corresponding Bachelor's Degree

2. Submit the respective issuance request.

Documentation for the thesis

A. Thesis plan

  1. The thesis plan must meet the development criteria approved by the faculty; the student must await its approval. See thesis plan criteria.
  2. The thesis student must present a application for approval of the thesis plan. This research can be carried out by a maximum of two members, the presentation of a joint application is accepted.
  3. To submit your thesis plan, you must do the following:

B. Approval of the thesis

To submit the documentation for thesis approval, the following must be done:

. Piura Campus. Submit your thesis via the following link: thesis submission form. If you have any questions, you can contact us by email. tramites.titulo.ingenieria.piura@udep.edu.pe.

. Lima Campus. Send the plan to the following email address luis.flores@udep.edu.pe. If you have any questions, you can contact us at the same email address.

The thesis student(s) must present the following documents to start the process:

  1. The thesis for obtaining the professional degree (digital) in Word and PDF format (the PDF document includes the UDEP logo as a watermark) for initial review by the jury. The thesis must follow the style guidelinesGuide for the preparation of the Final Degree Projects - Faculty of EngineeringTemplate for the preparation of the Final Degree Projects - Faculty of Engineering established by the faculty.
  2. The advisor(s)' report.
  3. In a single application, both authors of the thesis must submit the application for review, date of defense and awarding of title.
  4. Each thesis author must provide a copy of the receipt for payment of the corresponding academic fee. account and right of the thesis. Once payment is made, you will receive the receipt or invoice via email, as requested. This documentation must be presented upon submission of the thesis.

Once the jury members have been appointed and the thesis reviewed, they will send a memorandum to the academic secretariat indicating whether the work is approved or with observations, and the authors will be informed.

If there are observations, the thesis student must resubmit the corrected thesis for a new review, with a new report from the advisor (this process is repeated until the jury members approve the thesis).

 

Format review

Once the thesis has been approved by the jury, the academic secretariat proceeds to review the thesis format, informing the thesis writer whether their work is approved or has observations.

C. Support of the thesis

Once the thesis (content and format) has been approved, and before the defense, each author must send the following information:

1. Fill out the following sheets:

General Secretariat Personal File 

2. A color image, with a white background, in passport size (4 cm high x 3.50 cm wide) and in .jpg format, is required. This requirement is established by the Directorate of Documentation and University Information and Registry of Degrees and Titles of the National Superintendency of Higher University Education (SUNEDU). As mentioned in Directorial Resolution No. 0032-2023-sunedu-02-15, the inclusion of the photograph in the diploma is mandatory.

If you do not need to include your photograph, you must send an email communicating this decision to the corresponding email detailed at the end.

3. Clear copy of the DNI (both sides of the DNI on the same side of the page).

4. Affidavit of originality of the thesis,It should be placed on the second page of the final degree project. If there are two students, it should occupy the second and third pages.

5. The tab Authorization for open access publication in the PIRHUA institutional repository correctly completed and signed by the author, expressing agreement with its presentation in the PIRHUA institutional repository. If the final work was prepared as a group, each author must sign a separate authorization. These files must be duly authorized by the faculty secretary.

For the following information, a single submission is enough, the author or, in the case of group preparation, the coordinating author:

6. Information sheet for the thesis or research workn in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 500 words (in Word and PDF format)

7. The complete originality report signed by the author(s) and the advisor (Complete Turnitin Report).

NOTE

According to the agreement of the Superior Council, the requirement for physical delivery of the Final Degree Project - TFG is eliminated for all Undergraduate and Postgraduate Programs of the University of Piura.
You are informed that, to parade at the Opening Ceremony of the academic year, the thesis must be supported no later than March 30.
