Modality for obtaining an academic degree or professional title that requires in-depth research and an original and unpublished analysis, around a specific academic area. It involves public support before the academic community in general and the approval of a jury that evaluates it. Since this modality serves to obtain the professional title, second professional specialty, academic degree of master and doctor; Its rigor and demand will vary depending on the professional title or academic degree that you want to obtain.

Steps of the thesis project

PASO 1 • Definición del tema

Choice of the project topic (the student can continue with the topic developed during the Projects 8 (PR8) course.
Assignment of the advisor, by the academic program.

STEP 2 • Preparation of the Thesis Plan

– Redacción del plan de tesis siguiendo el modelo de plan de tesis aprobado por el Programa de Arquitectura.

– Approval by the advisor.

STEP 3 • Development of the thesis

The student develops the architectural project, individually, with the guidance of the advisor.

Advisor critiques after the PR8 course

The student has the right to criticism, that is, to the attention of his advisor once the thesis plan is approved.
The advisor's attention for criticism is established as follows:

– First semester: 4 reviews (one per month).

– Second semester: 2 reviews (one every 2 months).

– Third semester: 1 critique per semester.

PASO 4 • Entrega de tesis

Necessary documentation:

Informe de la tesis impreso (formato A4). La tesis debe seguir la normativa de estilo, guía para la elaboración de los TFG-Fac. INGENIERÍA, plantilla para la elaboración de los TFG-Fac. INGENIERÍA established by the faculty.
Planos impresos (formato A1).
5 Paneles síntesis en soporte rígido (formato A1).
Maqueta.

Entregar la documentación solicitada en físico en la Secretaría del P. A. de Arquitectura (Edificio E, hall del segundo piso) y enviar la tesis en formato digital a través del siguiente enlace: formulario de envío de tesis.

El jurado dispone de 30 días calendario para la revisión y emisión de observaciones. Si hay observaciones, el tesista debe volver a presentar la tesis corregida para una nueva revisión, con un nuevo informe del asesor (este proceso se repite hasta que los miembros del jurado aprueben la tesis).

Format review

Una vez aprobada la tesis por el jurado, se procede con la revisión del formato de la tesis por parte de la secretaría académica, quien comunica al tesista que su trabajo está aprobado o con observaciones.

Si hay observaciones, el tesista debe volver a presentar la tesis corregida para una nueva revisión (este proceso se repite hasta que la secretaría académica apruebe el formato de la tesis).

STEP 5 • Thesis support act

The thesis student presents the project carried out in a public presentation.
It must accompany the exhibition with the model and the synthesis panels in A1 format.

STEP 6 • After supporting the thesis
