Mission and vision

Mission

The Faculty of Educational Sciences aims to train educators with academic and research excellence, enabling them to perform professionally in various fields of education. It promotes comprehensive training at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, responding to the challenges and demands of contemporary education, with a solid general education, scientific preparation, and pedagogical training, all within a Christian framework.

Vision

To be a faculty committed to the initial and continuous training of teachers, having a staff of professors who have the training, experience and capabilities required for the development of university teaching and research activities in the different fields of action: methodological, scientific and specific didactics.


Goals

The academic rigor and student support offered by the Faculty of Education Sciences are proposed as the following objectives:

  • Quality in teaching and research: To promote the performance of quality work in the teaching and research fields.
  • Axiological formation: To enhance qualities and develop virtues in order to be the protagonist of one's own personal development project.
  • Innovative capacity: Develop an innovative spirit through a flexible curriculum that is open to constant updating in the different specialties.
  • Teamwork: Promote a participatory style that fosters adaptation to innovations and teamwork (collaborative, cooperative, participatory, among others).
  • Learning in pre-professional practice: Highlighting pre-professional practice as a means of learning for the development of professional competence.
  • Educational inclusion: Promote study opportunities for students with limited economic resources from different areas of the country and the region through scholarships and partial scholarships.
  • Professional identity of teachers: To strengthen the professional identity of the teacher through knowledge of the subject matter, didactic skills and pedagogical attitudes of teachers and students of the faculty.
