Development of mathematical and scientific thinking

It seeks to promote the development of mathematical and scientific thinking to boost the acquisition of knowledge and skills that allow understanding and proposing solutions to educational problems at different levels of training.

The objectives of this line of research are:

  • To promote the development of mathematical and scientific skills for problem-solving and the exercise of citizenship.
  • Promote specialized knowledge of mathematics for the practice of quality teaching.
  • To promote scientific inquiry for the acquisition of a reasoning scheme that allows understanding and solving problems in different environments.
  • Evaluate the training activities developed to determine their impact on the learning acquired.
  • Gather information from the schools where graduates work to assess the impact of their training on different aspects of the educational context.

Education and training contexts

To contribute to the development of research and contributions to knowledge in various educational fields related to the person, communication, culture and curriculum, through collaborative work between specialists in these subjects for the production of scientific knowledge and its dissemination in different means of scientific dissemination.

The objectives of this line of research are:

  • To promote collaborative work among specialists to plan annual activities that contribute to achieving the goals set in the medium term in the production of scientific knowledge in education.
  • Promote communication spaces among group members as training and research environments to carry out medium-term research projects or plans, as well as discussions on research progress.
  • Develop at least one research project every two years to determine the formative impact of the training provided by the faculty to teachers who have graduated from its programs.
  • Write scientific reports about the pedagogical and training practices developed by researchers to disseminate knowledge as contributions in the field of education.
