This course offers a comprehensive exploration of the main contemporary challenges facing cities, addressing urban planning and design processes from a multi-scalar, critical, and sustainable perspective. With a focus on quality of life, spatial equity, and urban resilience, it enables participants to understand how urban spaces must respond to the social, environmental, and technological transformations of our time, promoting a more inclusive, livable, and democratic city. Participants will be guided by key theoretical currents in urbanism, case studies, and innovative approaches, using a theoretical-practical methodology that will allow them to interpret the city as a complex and dynamic system.

• Architects, urban planners, designers, engineers, geographers and professionals interested in sustainable urban planning and development.

• Public officials from municipalities and regional governments seeking to improve the quality of urban life through a sustainable and comprehensive approach.

• Consultants and researchers seeking to update or deepen their knowledge in sustainable urban planning and design.

• Academic background in Architecture, Urban Planning, Engineering, Design or other related fields.

• Interest in urban issues, sustainability, planning and public space.

• Advanced technical software skills are not required, although basic knowledge of graphic representation tools will be valued.
