Engineering and Specialty
- To understand the fundamental principles for the design of asphalt mixtures, hydraulic concrete, and other road materials.
- To understand the fundamental principles for pavement design.
- To understand the fundamental principles of traffic operations and road safety.
- To understand the fundamental principles of geotechnical design applied to road infrastructure.
- To understand the fundamental principles of Hydrology and Hydraulics related to road infrastructure works.
- To understand the fundamental principles for managing the construction of road infrastructure projects.
- To learn about the technological and digital tools applicable in the planning, design, construction and management of road engineering works.
- Develop technical criteria to lead multidisciplinary teams of road infrastructure projects.
- Design and implement solutions to road problems throughout the life of the project, integrating various aspects such as pavement design, operations, maintenance, geotechnical design, hydraulics and economic analysis.
Project management and people management
- To understand the principles of project management and administration and apply them to road solutions, through the performance of formulation, evaluation and planning activities.
- Acquire the ability to identify the values and qualities of other people and understand their points of view.
Research
- To understand research methodology and apply it to the planning, design, and execution of research projects.
- Develop reflective capacity and apply it to the analysis and interpretation of information aimed at developing road solutions.
Likewise, the soft skills or competencies acquired at the end of the Master's studies in Highway Engineering and the key indicators of their performance are the following:
Organization and information
- Recognize, organize, and use the data to establish the solutions that best suit the problem.
Key performance indicators:
- Identify the type of information required to address the road problem
- It establishes the method for processing data and arriving at solutions.
- Implements, monitors, and maintains the organization of a road project
Change and transformation
- It is capable of developing a continuous improvement process based on what already exists.
Key performance indicators:
- Identify the requirements for change and the opportunities for transformation
- Develop and implement a change or transformation strategy
