Educational medical campaign project 2019

Doctors and students from Texas Tech University, and students and teachers from the University of Piura (UDEP) participated in this project. Together they organized the free project in June 2019. They brought help to thousands of residents of Pedregal Grande – Molino Azul (Catacaos), affected by the El Niño Costero phenomenon that occurred in 2017.

Information

Seven doctors, medical students and nurses from Texas Tec University participated in this campaign, who had the support of students from the Faculty of Education Sciences, specializing in English and Initial Language. They contributed to the development of the activities programmed in both the health campaign and the education campaign, at the national school No. 20073 “La Campiña”. In addition, doctors specializing in psychology, gynecology, ophthalmology and pediatrics were assisted by students specializing in English Language who acted as interpreters. Their participation made it possible to provide information in talks on health, prevention and nutrition to the population.
