The competition consists of 2 cancellation phases:
Phase 1 (group)
1. Dynamics and evaluation:
Phase 1 consists of 4 stages:
1.1 Workshops:
- All registered teams must attend the entrepreneurship and innovation workshops. These workshops are a learning event designed to improve the value proposition of their business idea according to the criteria of the following methodologies: Business Model Canvas and Pitch (mandatory for students and teachers).
- The workshops will be held on June 6th, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm (Peruvian time), via the Zoom platform. Participants must keep their cameras on throughout the session. Each team member must log in at least 10 minutes before the workshop begins. Access information will be sent to the email address provided on the registration form.
1.2. Presentation of the work:
- The competition website will have a "Business Plan Registration" tab. Participants must submit the following documents in PDF format:
- Audiovisual presentation (PowerPoint or Prezi): This should explain the business concept, value proposition, target customers, resources, and key activities for implementing the Business Plan. The presentation should have a maximum of 6 slides.
- Business idea report: must have a maximum of ten (10) pages (not including cover page and appendices). The document presentation format must be downloaded from the competition website.
The report's presentation structure is as follows:
1. Cover page: name of the finalist team, the students, the teacher, and the school they belong to. Mention the category and the year they are in.
2. Problem/need and business opportunity.
3. Value proposition and solution.
4. Market analysis: Target audience and customer segment. Competitive analysis.
5. Product or service of the business plan.
6. Marketing strategies: Channels / Customer relationship.
7. Sources of Income.
8. Key Resources: physical, intellectual, human and financial.
9. Key activities: Production activities, problem-solving, platform activities, and other activities.
10. Key allies.
11. Cost structure.
12. Annexes: Statistical tables, images, photos, etc.
13. Bibliography.
The documents must be sent to the email address wecandoit@udep.edu.pe by June 19, 2026 at 6:00 pm, with the following name: “Name of the business idea_Name of the team_Name of the school” (Example: NutriLunch_TrueColors_SantaMaría)
- Group projects will be evaluated according to the following criteria:
- Clarity in defining the market and analyzing the business opportunity.
- Relevance of the identified problem to the community.
- Degree of innovation.
- Correct writing and clarity in the ideas presented.
- Business ideas or projects accepted for this competition must have the following characteristics:
- a) Relate to the following categories: education, environment, gastronomy, culture, health, services, technology, agribusiness, mass consumption or tourism.
- It must be creative and innovative and not currently available on the national market.
- It must provide a solution to a problem in the place where the Educational Institution is located (whether city, province, region or country).
- It must have a clear target market and real potential demand.
- The jury will be composed of professors from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at the University of Piura, who will evaluate the group projects submitted. The five groups with the highest scores will advance to phase two in strict order of merit.
- The results of the first phase will be published on the contest website on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 6:00 pm (Peruvian time).
1.3. Exhibitions:
- The five finalist groups will present their projects to a jury of business and innovation specialists on Friday, June 26th at 6:00 pm (Peruvian time). The presentations will be held in person at the University of Piura. Each team must wear their school uniform.
- The presentation will be given by one or two students (duration: 7 minutes), and the entire team will participate in the question and answer session (duration: 5 minutes). All team members must be present or connected, as applicable.
- Evaluation criteria for the exhibitions:
- Attitude, clarity, and coherence in the presentation: The contestants convey confidence and persuade the audience to purchase the product or service. Furthermore, they clearly communicate the problem to be solved, the value proposition, and the technological component of the business plan. They also explain how the product or service is acquired, its selling price, and production costs.
- Innovation and creativity of the business plan: Through the presentation, the exhibitors showcase the innovation and creativity of the business plan, as a good solution to the problem presented.
2. Registration for the competition:
Registrations will be done online through the official website of the competition: http://udep.edu.pe/cceeee/programa/we-can-do-it/ The registration period will begin on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 9:00 am (Peruvian time) and will end on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 6:00 pm (Peruvian time).
For registration, the data of each of the team members will be recorded.
Phase 2 (individual)
1. Dynamics and evaluation:
At the end of Phase 1 of the We Can Do It competition, the members of the five (5) teams will individually take an academic assessment to measure their knowledge and academic skills. The exam will be held in person on Saturday, July 4, 2026. The assessment consists of 70 questions: 35 verbal reasoning questions and 35 mathematical reasoning questions. It will last 2 hours.
2. Exam registration:
Registrations will be done online through the following link, In addition, the corresponding academic fee must be paid. The Admissions Office will publish the results during the week of July 6, 2026.
The Admissions Office will publish the results on Monday, October 6th at 7:00 pm.
