The tenth edition of the "We Can Do It" competition, hereinafter referred to as the COMPETITION, is organized by the Academic Programs of Business Administration, Administration and Marketing, and International Business Administration of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Piura. It is a school competition that seeks to reward the most outstanding students for their academic excellence.
Aim
To encourage students to create an innovative product or service and design a business plan. It also aims to develop an entrepreneurial spirit in participants and the ability to create business plans that align with the profile the Faculty seeks for future students of Business Administration, Marketing, and International Business.
Contest conditions
- The COMPETITION is aimed at fifth-year high school students from public and private schools nationally and internationally.
- The COMPETITION consists of two phases, phase 1 is group and phase 2 is individual.
- The first phase covers two fields of entrepreneurship: traditional and startup; that is, participants will be able to propose traditional or non-traditional business ideas.
Traditional entrepreneurship is defined as business ideas that already exist in the market and are currently being sold. However, for this competition, the degree of innovation of the proposed traditional idea will be evaluated; that is, the creativity, originality, and novelty of the service or product. For example, a traditional business is a corner store, but if the factor of innovation is added, the business idea could be a "mobile store," which is a store inside a vehicle selling groceries to people who live far from shopping centers and markets.
· It is defined as startup to businesses that incorporate technology into their sales, production, distribution, or customer service activities. Another characteristic of this approach startup It is the innovation and creativity of the business idea that is projected to national markets and, in the future, to be implemented on a large scale.
- Participation in the WCDI 2026 SCHOOL COMPETITION implies full acceptance of these rules, as well as their terms and conditions.
- To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must pass both phases of the competition and obtain the highest overall score. The first phase of the competition accounts for 50.1% of the total score, while the second phase accounts for the remaining 50.1%.
- The scholarship is non-transferable.
- The scholarship awarded will be valid only for the Academic Programs of Business Administration, Administration and Marketing and Administration and International Business at the Piura campus, as well as for the start of classes in the 2027-I period.
- The scholarship only applies to the exclusive scope of the right to academic pensions for the ordinary undergraduate academic periods and not to the rest of the academic rights in force during the student's studies.
- The scholarship recipient may not suspend any of the ten (10) academic periods that will be covered, otherwise they will lose said benefit.
- Once the scholarship is obtained, the student must maintain a minimum bi-period academic index of 14, or belong to the top 5% to retain it.
- The scholarship will be governed according to the current regulations E-03 corresponding to Excellence Scholarships.
