Professional title – Professional Sufficiency Work (TSP)

 

Professional Title Requirements

To request the granting of a professional degree in Engineering (Civil, Industrial and Systems or Mechanical-Electrical) in the TSP modality

1. Be a graduate of an academic program of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Piura, at least two years previously.

2. Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture.

3. Have provided professional services for a minimum of two years, in one or more work centers in related areas of engineering or architecture. This professional experience will be evaluated by the Academic Program Director of the graduate's specialty and will only be considered if it was carried out in the field of the corresponding career.

4. Develop and approve a TSP.

To request the issuance of the Title diploma

1. Have an Agreement from the Higher Council to obtain the corresponding Bachelor's Degree.

2. Present the issuance request respective.

TSP Documentation

A. TSP Plan

1. TSP Plan must meet the development criteria approved by the faculty and its approval must be awaited. The plan is made up of:

– A summary of professional experience at the company(ies). This should briefly describe the professional activities performed within the companies where you have worked, including participation in projects or process improvements, planning, or organization, all of which must be supported by the corresponding documentation. Activities should be organized by date, name, location, etc. The justification and relevance to your profession must be explained, as well as the importance of the activities performed to the environment in which the professional experience was developed.

– The Professional Proficiency Work Plan must be for the most relevant work you have chosen. See TSP Plan Criteria.

– Employment certificates specifying the positions held at the workplaces throughout your employment period.

2. The graduate must present a Request for approval of the TSP Plan.  Proof of work must be attached to the application.

3. With the approval of the Plan by the Director of the Academic Program, the decision is formally communicated to the graduate, indicating the following:

– There is a maximum period of 30 days, from the approval of the plan, to coordinate a meeting with the Director of the Academic Program, where a pre-evaluation of the proposed TSP will be carried out. The Reviewing Professor also participates in the pre-evaluation meeting.

– That there is a 90-day period for the presentation of the TSP.

4. If there are comments to the Plan, the graduate must resubmit the corrected TSP Plan for a second review and an updated application (this process is repeated until the reviewing members approve the Plan).

B. Approval of the TSP

The Professional Sufficiency Work (TSP) to obtain the Professional Title must follow the norms already established by the Faculty according to Style regulations.

– The graduate must submit the draft of the TSP (digital) in WORD and PDF (the PDF document has the UDEP shield as a watermark) for first review by the reviewing teacher.

– The reviewing teacher sends a memorandum to the Academic Secretariat indicating whether the work has observations or is approved.

– If there are observations, the graduate must resubmit the corrected TSP for a new review, as a new report from the reviewing teacher (this process is repeated until the reviewing teacher approves the TSP).

Once the TSP is approved by the reviewing teacher, we proceed with the review of the TSP format by the Academic Secretariat (SA).

– The graduate must submit the draft of the TSP (digital) in WORD and PDF (the PDF document with watermark) for first review by SA.

– The Academic Secretariat informs the graduate that their work is either under review or approved.

– If there are any observations, the graduate must resubmit the corrected TSP for a new review (this process is repeated until SA approves the TSP format).

Once the TSP format is approved by SA, we proceed with the sending, digitally, of all the documentation detailed below:

  1. Professional Sufficiency Work (TSP)
  2. Report of the reviewing professor.
  3. The author of the TSP must present the Application for granting the Title and date of exhibition of your work.
  4. The author of the TSP must present a copy of the payment receipt for the corresponding academic fee in the case of payments made to banking entities, or, stating the date and transaction number in the case of payments made to the university. See Account and right of the Thesis.
  5. The author of the TSP must complete the following forms:

    b. General Secretariat Personal File
  6. A color photograph with a white background, passport-sized (4 cm high x 3.5 cm wide) and in .jpg format, is required. This requirement is established by the Directorate of University Documentation and Information and Registry of Degrees and Titles of the National Superintendency of Higher University Education (Sunedu). As mentioned in Directoral Resolution No. 0032-2023-Sunedu-02-15, the inclusion of the photograph on the diploma is mandatory.

C. TSP Exposition

Once the TSP is approved, the following documentation must be sent to the email corresponding to your graduation campus:

1. The digital version of the TSP in Word and PDF formats must be identical to the printed one, except for the insertion of the watermark with the shield of the University of Piura in PDF format.

2. Affidavit of authenticity of the TSP.

3. TSP Fact Sheet in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 500 words.

4. The tab Authorization for open access publication in the PIRHUA institutional repository It must be correctly completed and signed by the author, expressing agreement with its presentation in the PIRHUA institutional repository. These files must be duly authorized by the faculty secretary.

 

5. The originality report signed by the author and the reviewer. Turnitin report.

 

NOTE:

You are informed that, to parade at the Opening Ceremony of the academic year, the TSP must be submitted no later than March 30.
