Module 1: Data Storytelling I: Contexts and Visual Elements

Theory and main topics:

  • Welcome and course presentation.
  • Data Storytelling Chapter I: The Importance of Context.
  • Data Storytelling Chapter II: Choosing an Effective Visual Element.
  • Decision support systems.

Power BI Hands-on:

  • Let's Practice: Practical exercises related to the topics covered in the session.
  • Development of 2 exercises with a Power BI manual (using the flipped classroom methodology)
Module 2: Management by Objectives and Data VIZ

Content

Theory and main topics:

  • Data Visualization: Data Viz & Storytelling
  • Which graph is the most appropriate?
  • Strategy, Management by Objectives and SMART Goals
  • Power BI project development methodology: Get Data, Data Preparation, Data Modelling, Data Visualization and Data Reporting.

Power BI Hands-on:

  • Let's Practice Storytelling with Data: Practical exercises related to the topics covered in the session.
  • Development of 3 exercises with a Power BI manual (using the flipped classroom methodology)

  • Resources and workshop with the Figma vector graphics editor
  • How to add a custom background in Power BI
Module 5: Fundamentals of Business Intelligence and Databases
