This course provides a solid understanding of the principles, tools, and methodologies for automatic image analysis and processing. Participants will understand the impact of AI and image processing in productive sectors, develop skills to propose and understand innovative projects that offer solutions based on machine learning and deep learning, guide and support computer vision and AI projects, and improve their machine learning and deep learning skills using Python and specialized libraries such as OpenCV, PyTorch, NumPy, and Pandas. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical applications in representative cases from Peruvian industry, such as quality inspection, process monitoring, industrial safety, and automated control.

  • Engineers and professionals in the areas of engineering (agricultural, industrial, mechanical, electrical, etc.), in sciences (biologists, biotechnologists) and related branches.
  • Specialists in quality control, automation and industrial maintenance.
  • Professionals who lead digital transformation projects (Industry 4.0)
  • Technicians and professionals interested in understanding the impact of artificial intelligence on production processes.

PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Basic programming knowledge (not mandatory).
  • Familiarity with basic computer environments.
  • Training in engineering, science, or related technical fields.

 

Graduation profile

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understanding the potential of “Computer vision” and AI in production processes.
  • Being able to lead an AI project with image processing.
  • Skills in Python oriented to computer vision, using specialized libraries and working environments.
  • Understanding the theoretical and mathematical foundations of machine learning and deep learning applied to images and video.
  • Integrate computer vision models into real workflows for inspection, quality control, or monitoring.

 

Certification

The official certificate for the Computer Vision for Industry: Theory and Applications course, awarded by the University of Piura, will be given to attendees who:

  • Cancel all payment installments.
  • Attend at least 80% of the classes.
  • Have a passing final average.
