The Faculty of Engineering has worked on research projects aimed at generating knowledge and solving environmental problems, to improve people's quality of life.

Cocoa Circle

It is a social innovation program, made up of the University of Piura, the University of Jaén and the Technological Institute of Production (ITP), which studies a process related to cocoa: solar dryer, drying chamber, fermentation process, germplasm and hyperspectral signals applied to this grain that is grown in the mountains of the Piura and Cajamarca regions.

Varayoc

Initiative of the national naval force of Peru to design a new Command and Control System for its ships.

The work consisted of architectural studies, programming, and construction of a new Command and Control System for frigates and corvettes, the most important ships of the Peruvian Navy.

Digital Transformation of the Agro-Industrial sector applied to Organic Bananas

The project is carried out by a team of engineers from the Laboratory of Automatic Control Systems, of the Faculty of Engineering, of the University of Piura, in alliance with the University of Surrey, of the United Kingdom, and the Banana and Cocoa Producers Cooperative ASPROBO, located in the district of Buenos Aires, Morropón, Piura.

The objective is to help farmers prevent future diseases in their crops, through an automated Artificial Intelligence system, which allows for online, real-time monitoring of weather data, air and soil characteristics, and data collection. agricultural, through Machine Learning.
