A medical surgeon who graduated from the National University Pedro Ruiz Gallo (2007), specializing in Pediatrics (2012) and Pediatric Oncology (2014) at the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University. Since September 2022, she has held the position of Executive Director of the Department of Pediatric Oncology at the National Institute of Neoplastic Diseases (INEN).
In the academic field, he is a professor at the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura and has participated in international programs such as the Global Scholars Program of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where he developed projects focused on improving access to early diagnosis of central nervous system tumors in Peruvian children. Her research focuses on pediatric neuro-oncology, and she is the co-author of more than 50 scientific publications indexed in databases such as PubMed and Scopus. She has contributed to multicenter studies on pediatric medulloblastoma, retinoblastoma, and gliomas, notably her participation in the development of the PANORAMA tool to assess the capacity of pediatric neuro-oncology services globally. Furthermore, she leads the implementation of the Early Warning Assessment Scale (EVAT) in pediatric oncology hospitals in Latin America, achieving a reduction in mortality due to clinical deterioration in hospitalized patients. |
