Stefany Infante Varillas

Master in Biomedical Research, specialty in Cancer, Immunology and immunotherapy from the University of Navarra. Biologist, Microbiologist and Parasitologist from the Pedro Ruiz Gallo National University. He has developed research on Immunotherapy strategies in the treatment of cancer carried out at the Applied Medical Research Center, Navarra. Bacterial biotechnology; Molecular and genomic characterization of microorganisms in the Microbiology and Immunology Laboratory of the University of Piura. He is currently leading a research project on new therapeutic targets in non-small cell lung cancer, funded by Fondecyt. Professor at the Faculty of Human Medicine. 

Jaime Millas Mur

Doctor in Bioethics from the Catholic University of Valencia (Spain) with a thesis on “Bioethical reflection on the opinion of Peruvian doctors about the application of stem cell therapy in clinics in Latin America”, with the qualification of Outstanding Cum Laude. Master in Management of Educational Institutions from the Villanueva University Center, attached to the Complutense University of Madrid. Master in Bioethics from the University of Murcia (Spain). Graduate in Biological Sciences, from the University of Valencia (Spain) and Graduate in Educational Sciences from the University of Piura (Peru). Deputy director of the Colegio Mayor “Albalat” (Valencia) and director of several Cultural Centers and the Alpamayo School, Lima (1988-2004). Vice President of the “Family Guidance Center” (COFAM). Director of the “Turicará” School of Piura (2005-2012). Co-author of the Book “Bioethics in Research. Fundamentals, principles, applications” and author of other books on Bioethics and education, as well as Bioethics articles in indexed journals. 

Juan Faya Castillo

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology from the National University Pedro Ruiz Gallo, Lambayeque, and a Master's degree in Bioinformatics from the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of São Paulo. During his postgraduate studies, he conducted research at the Computational Biology Laboratory of LNBio – CNPEM, Campinas, Brazil, analyzing conformational changes at protein phosphorylation sites. His academic background is complemented by various internships and specialized courses both nationally and internationally. Currently, he works as a professor and researcher registered with RENACYT at the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura. His research interests include studies in silico e in vitro, focused on protein kinases, drug repositioning and structural analysis of proteins in the fields of cancer, psychiatric disorders and bacterial resistance.

César Gutiérrez Villafuerte

Master in Epidemiology and Surgeon from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. PhD student in Humanities with a mention in cultural studies at the University of Piura. Associate Academician of the National Academy of Medicine. Professor of the Department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM).
In postgraduate studies he has taught in Master's programs in Medicine, Epidemiology, Public Health and Biostatistics at various national universities. He was Director of Research and Information Management of the Complementary Medicine Management of EsSalud.

Paolo Wong Chero

He is a surgeon from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM), graduated with a master's degree in Biochemistry from the same university and a master's degree in Biomedical Research with a Specialty in Translational Research from the University of Navarra (Spain).
He has worked as a professor of Biochemistry at the San Fernando Faculty of Medicine and has been a researcher at the Daniel A. Carrión Institute of Tropical Medicine of the UNMSM. At the University of Piura (UDEP), he has served as head of laboratories and deputy vice dean of development and quality of the Faculty of Human Medicine. He is also a professor of Biochemistry since the beginning of the faculty.

 

Arturo Gonzales Rodriguez

Master's studies in Biochemistry and Genetics from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Graduate in Medical Technology in Clinical Laboratory and Pathological Anatomy from the same University. He has led research projects for the design of immunological diagnostic tests. He is a member of the Molecular Medicine research and teaching group at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He has publications in indexed journals and has participated in various international courses and conferences. Develops projects on the immunometabolic response of older adults to urinary tract infections, metagenomics and bacterial resistance mainly to beta-lactams.

Roxana Regalado Rafael

Medical Surgeon specializing in Clinical Pathology from the National University Federico Villarreal.

He is a member of the following Medical Societies: Peruvian Medical Association of Clinical Pathology, Peruvian Society of Hemotherapy and Blood Bank, Peruvian Association of Organ and Tissue Transplantation, Peruvian Society of Cancerology, International Society Of Blood Transfusion and American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.

He holds a Diploma in Strategic Management of Health Services from the Daniel Alcides Carrión University, a Diploma in Medical Auditing from the San Luis Gonzaga University, Diplomas in Public Management and Government from the University of Piura, a National Diploma of Specialization in Health Services Management with a Mention in Integrated Network Management from the University of the Pacific, a Diploma in Quality Control in Clinical Laboratories from the Daniel Alcides Carrión University, an International Diploma in Quality Control and Management applied to Blood Banks and Transfusion Medicine from the San Luis Gonzaga University, a Diploma in Molecular Biology and Histocompatibility applied to Clinical Laboratories, and an International Diploma in Stem Cells from the Daniel Alcides Carrión University.

John Carlos Azurin Salazar

A physician who graduated from the National University of San Marcos, specializing in Health Administration and Management at the same institution. He also holds a Master's degree in Education, with a focus on University Teaching and Research, from the Institute for Educational Quality at the University of San Martín de Porres. Currently, he is the Internship Coordinator, a professor, and a member of the Educational Innovation Unit at the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura.

Sofia Victoria Aviles Pingo

A medical doctor and surgeon from San Martín de Porres University, with a Master's degree in Health Services Management from ESAN University. He has received international training in health management in Colombia and the USA (Florida International University), as well as a Diploma in Medical Auditing from the University of Applied Sciences. He has extensive experience in oncology auditing, hospital processes, and occupational health auditing. He also complemented his training with a Diploma in Accreditation and Quality Management in Educational Institutions from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru.

Cybill Chavez Rivas

Doctor of Business Administration with a specialization in Strategic Management from the Graduate School of San Ignacio de Loyola University. Master of Science in Health Services Management from the Faculty of Human Medicine at San Martín de Porres University. Diploma in Executive Coaching from the University of Sciences and Arts of Latin America. Specialist in Cariology and Endodontics from San Martín de Porres University, registered with the National Registry of Specialists (RNE. 1594). Completed Rural and Marginal Urban Health Service (SERUMS). Licensed Dental Surgeon (COP. 29698) from San Martín de Porres University.
Currently, she is the academic coordinator of the Postgraduate and Continuing Education Unit at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Piura, as well as a professor of the undergraduate course in Health Management. She is certified in accreditation for basic and higher education, having participated in institutional licensing and accreditation processes, including the accreditation renewal process with the Galician Agency for Quality in the University System (ACSUG). She has coordinated academic activities at the National School of Public Health and has also served as Head of Master's Programs, Postgraduate Academic Coordinator, and Head of the Simulation Center at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of San Martín de Porres.

Jorge de la Cruz Oré

Medical specialist in Internal Medicine from the National University of San Marcos. He completed his medical residency at the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, where he was distinguished as chief resident. He pursued master's degrees in Biostatistics and Health Economics at the National University of San Marcos, in the faculties of Science, Mathematics, and Economics, respectively.

He has been a visiting professor at several universities in the country, teaching courses in biostatistics, research and epidemiology.

Author of multiple research papers published in various scientific journals.

He has been a professor at the Faculty of Human Medicine since 2000. He currently also works as an internist at the Guillermo Almenara National Hospital.

Edgar Gonzales Escalante

Doctor of Microbiology from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, graduating with honors (Cum Laude) from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Master of Microbiology from the National University of San Marcos in Lima, Peru. Medical Technologist specializing in Clinical Laboratory and Anatomical Pathology, also from the National University of San Marcos (UNMSM). Renacyt Researcher. My research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, with a particular interest in beta-lactamases, molecular epidemiology, and the development of new resistance detection methods. I am currently a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Human Medicine and a member of the research group on the Genetics, Biochemistry, and Epidemiology of Antimicrobial Resistance.

Luis Edgardo Gonzales Huerta

Bachelor of Medicine and Medical Doctor from Universidad Científica del Sur. He holds a Master's degree in Immunology and a PhD in Clinical Medicine Research, specializing in Infectious Diseases, from Imperial College London (ICL). In 2017, he received a Fellowship in Global Health, funded by the Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund (ISSF). As a recipient of the Concytec/Prociencia "Doctorate Abroad" scholarship, he conducted research at the Center for Molecular Bacteriology and Infection (MRC-CMBI), analyzing the modulation of the immune system by mycobacteria in coinfection with Aspergillus fumigatus. He is currently a professor and researcher at the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura.

Franco Ronald Romani Romani

A medical doctor and surgeon with a Master's degree in Epidemiology from the National University of San Marcos and a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. He holds a diploma in Science Communication. He is a professor at the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura. He has served as Executive Director of the Office of Technology Transfer and Training, and of the Executive Office of Research at the National Institute of Health. He has also served as President of the Research Committee of the National Institute of Health. From 2018 to 2021, he was the scientific editor of the Peruvian Journal of Experimental Medicine and Public Health. He has numerous scientific publications in national and international journals in the fields of public health, epidemiology, and training of human resources in health research.

Leslie Young Espinoza

Doctor in Neurosciences and Cognition from the University of Navarra with Cum Laude qualification, specialist in Psychiatry and Medical Psychology from the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, and graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He completed his training in clinical and research psychiatry at the Clinical and Research Program in Pediatric Psychiatry and Adult ADHD at Massachusetts General Hospital, and at The Bressler Clinical and Research Program for Autism Spectrum Disorders, both at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. USA). He is a member of the Basque-Navarra Society of Psychiatry and the Peruvian Psychiatric Association. He has worked as a psychiatrist in Spanish private and public centers. 

Jorge Zagaceta Guevara

Doctor of Medicine from the University of Navarra with Cum Laude qualification, specialist in Pulmonology from the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, and graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. She completed her research training at the Respiratory Medicine Department of Brigham and Women's Hospital, attached to Harvard Medical School in Boston (Massachusetts, USA). He is a member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS), the Spanish Society of Respiratory Pathology (SEPAR) and the Peruvian Society of Pulmonology. In addition, he belongs to the international research group on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (BODE group). He has served as chief resident of Pulmonology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra, clinical activity as a Pulmonologist at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra and at the Navarra Hospital Complex – Spain. Currently, he is a member of the medical staff of the Angloamericana Clinic.

Manuel Diaz De los Santos

Specialist in Internal Medicine from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. Master's studies in Physiology from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (2009) and Clinical Epidemiology from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (2011).

He has been Head of the Adult Emergency Service at the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital (2012-2014), Head of the Emergency and Critical Care Department at the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital (2015-2017). Likewise, he has served as Deputy Director of the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital (2017-2018) and as Director of the General Directorate of Health Personnel Ministry of Health (2018-May 2019).

Assistant professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia (2010-July 2018). 

 

Sergio Endo Ramos

Specialist in General Surgery from the Ricardo Palma University. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. Diploma in University Teaching from the Faculty of Economic Sciences of the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos and FIDE with an expert diploma in Multiple Intelligences and Emotional Intelligence from the FIDE expert training program. EUSIM Level 1 Simulation Instructor with multiple courses in simulation and debriefing. He has completed international internships in Robotic and Laparoscopic Surgery at Mercy Hospital Miami Florida and in Liver, Pancreas, Biliary Tract and Duodenum Surgery at St Joseph Hospital Tampa Florida. He served as Chief Resident of the Vitarte Hospital and obtained recognition from the hospital for his outstanding work. He has different publications and has participated in various national and international conferences of his specialty and in clinical simulation.

Veronica Webb Linares

Specialist in Pediatrics and Neonatology from the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, with master's studies in Clinical Epidemiology from the same university. He has completed internships in neonatology at the Catholic University of Chile and other national and international institutions.
He has worked as a healthcare physician at the Cayetano Heredia Hospital until 2016, and was head of the Neonatology service at the aforementioned hospital. He was a member of the South American Neonatal Network Neocosur and was part of the Scientific Committee. He has been teaching at the university since 2000. He currently works as a healthcare physician in the pediatric service at the Clínica Delgado.

Fabiola Rivera Abbiati

Medical specialist in Pediatrics and Neonatology from the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University.
Master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology from the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia.
He has worked as an assistant physician at Cayetano Heredia Hospital.
He has served as an undergraduate and postgraduate teacher at the Faculty of Human Medicine of the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University.
She has worked as a staff member in neonatology at the San Felipe clinic and the Montesur clinic.
Diploma in University Teaching from the National University of San Marcos.
She has completed internships in The Children's Hospital, Denver, University of Colorado School of Medicine and in the Neonatology Unit of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
He has several publications and has participated in various national and international conferences in his field.

Adrián Arévalo Alván

He is a medical doctor and surgeon from the University of San Martín de Porres and a psychiatrist from the National University of San Marcos. During his psychiatric training, he completed residencies at the University Psychiatric Clinic of the University of Chile (Santiago, Chile), at the Herzog Center for Psychotrauma Treatment in Israel in conjunction with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Jerusalem, Israel), and at Mount Sinai Hospital through the University of Toronto (Toronto, Canada). He is also a rational-emotive-behavioral psychotherapist, having trained at the Institute of Rational Emotive Therapy in Lima and the Albert Ellis Institute in New York. He has received clinical training in cognitive behavioral therapy for traumatic stress disorders from the Herzog Center for Psychotrauma Treatment in Israel and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Jerusalem, Israel). He holds a Master's degree in Neuroscience from the National University of San Marcos. She has received recognition and acknowledgments from the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations, the Ministry of Health, the Center for Pediatric Traumatic Stress at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia/Nemours Health System in the United States, the Lima Metropolitan Charity Society, and, on two occasions, from the European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She is a member of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She also participates in research projects identifying the socio-emotional consequences of child maltreatment within the Global Collaboration on Traumatic Stress. Currently, he works as a consultant for the development of mental health programs, regulatory documents, training programs and mental health content, having experience in different institutions, such as the Víctor Larco Herrera hospital, the Mental Health Directorate of the Ministry of Health, the Bernard van Leer Foundation, the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), and the Kallpa Association for the Comprehensive Promotion of Health and Development.

Roxana Rodriguez Silva

Medical Doctor and Surgeon from Cayetano Heredia University, Peru, specializing in Pediatrics, also from Cayetano Heredia University. He has worked as an attending physician at Cayetano Heredia Hospital. He currently works as a staff pediatrician at San Felipe Clinic.

Luis Manuel Valdez Fernández-Baca

Medical doctor and surgeon from Cayetano Heredia University in Peru, specializing in Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He completed his training in Infectious Diseases at the University of Texas at Houston, USA. He is an internist specializing in infectious diseases and the Director of Medical Education at the Anglo-American Clinic. He has published in numerous medical journals and is the author of several books. He is a professor at Cayetano Heredia University in Peru and at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences.
