A neurologist with a master's degree in health services management and a doctorate in public health, he completed his training in Hospital Management at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Bicêtre, Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, France, and at the Graduate School of Public Health at Yonsei University, Seoul, Korea. He served as National Superintendent of Health from 2018 to April 2019, and as Vice Minister of Health of Peru from 2005 to 2006 and again from 2012 to 2014. He also held positions such as Head of the Intangible Solidarity Fund for Health, Head of the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS), Regional Director of Health for Callao, and Director General of the Daniel A. Carrión National Hospital, among others. He is a full professor and member of the Council of the Faculty of Medicine at the National University of San Marcos. Currently, he teaches and is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Piura. |
