Get to know the program

Agreement UDEP-UD Online LL.M. Collaboration with Dayton University School of Law will allow undergraduate and graduate students, as well as graduates of the UDEP Faculty of Law, to obtain the degree of Master of Laws (LL.M. in American and Transnational Law) from Dayton University in 1 year.

The Master is 100% Online and asynchronous. It consists of a total of 30 credits / 12 courses taught in 3 academic semesters (January, May and August). Thanks to this agreement, Dayton University will validate up to 10 UDEP credits. In this way, UDEP students will only have to take 20 (of the total of 30) credits to complete the LL.M.

The online LLM degree will enable students who have not studied undergraduate law in the US to apply to the American Bar Association and be able to practice law in the US.

The LLM curriculum is aligned with the requirements of the Washington and California bar exams.

Who can apply?

  • Undergraduate students who have completed the 4th year of law studies (8 academic semesters).
  • Students of the Master's Degree in Business Law, Master's Degree in Public Law, Master's Degree in Administrative Law and Market Regulation.
  • Students of the doctoral program in Law.
  • UDEP graduates from the Law degree and the Master's and Doctorate programs of the Faculty of Law.

How is the selection process?

  1. For undergraduate students, have completed at least eight (8) academic semesters of law school (that is, be at least in the first semester of their fifth year of law school).
  2. In the case of undergraduate or postgraduate graduates, or master's or doctoral students, prove their status to the director of law studies.
  3. Have a TOEFL iBT score of 80 or higher or an IELTS score of 6.5 or higher, or qualify for an exception from the TOEFL or IELTS requirement.
  4. Application for admission and required documents.
  5. Students must have good academic performance at UDEP when applying for the LL.M. UDSL online.
  6. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.2 or higher or the equivalent of a grade of C+ or higher in UDSL courses to remain in good academic standing.
  7. UDEP undergraduate students who meet all requirements will be granted conditional admission into UDSL to pursue the LL.M. Students and graduates of the UDEP undergraduate, Master's and/or Doctoral Programs who meet all the requirements will be admitted by the UDSL to study the LL.M.
  8. UDEP undergraduate students will have full admission into the LL.M. once they have obtained the UDEP Lawyer title.
  9. Application to the LL.M requires prior approval from the director of studies.
  10. Final acceptance will always be the responsibility of Dayton University – School of Law.
