Fundamentals of Journalism and Public Opinion

This area of knowledge provides a review of the basic principles that govern the journalistic profession and seeks to ensure that the student knows the essential features of the news, the management of sources and journalistic genres. Likewise, it seeks to show the differences between fundamental concepts such as public, the public and the public; all of this in interaction with the influence of the media, to understand the formation of public opinion.

Journalistic Writing

This area of knowledge seeks to reflect on journalistic work and its impact on social life. Its purpose is to contribute to the training of communicators capable of carrying out their work with rigor and solvency in a newsroom, in the genres of news, interviews, reports, chronicles and columns.

Radio, Television and Digital Journalism

Regarding radio journalism, the aim is to train in radio journalistic genres, so that students can prepare news, dispatches, interviews and journalistic reports for the radio. With regard to television journalism, the aim is for the student to distinguish the different audiovisual news genres. This learning is carried out through the theory of each genre and is applied in the realization of the genres in group work.

Journalistic Editing

This area of knowledge seeks to develop in students the ability to plan, produce and correct news, pages and sections. The subjects in this area propose a dynamic that allows students to learn to work as a team and under pressure (to meet deadlines).

Journalistic Design

This area of knowledge seeks for students to acquire the techniques of designing journalistic information in printed and digital publications. By acquiring these skills, students will be in a position to perform adequately in print and digital publications under the principles of desktop publishing.

Convergence Journalism

The area seeks to recreate the challenges that journalists must face in different information media: newspaper, radio and television news, and a web portal. It seeks for students to learn new ways of working, with integrated newsrooms that share, enhance and adapt content according to the platform through which it will be presented to the audience.
