Clinical Rotation – General Surgery

 The rotation

General surgery is one of the most important areas of adult healthcare, encompassing the management of both acute illnesses and scheduled surgical procedures. This specialty demands a comprehensive clinical approach, precise technical skills, critical thinking, and a high degree of coordination with multidisciplinary teams. Surgical training is a fundamental component of a physician's professional development, as it strengthens the diagnostic, problem-solving, and procedural skills necessary for general clinical practice.

The Clinical rotation in General Surgery The program aims to strengthen students' surgical training by allowing them to actively participate in various stages of the surgical process. During this experience, they will be integrated into the activities of the Surgical Center, the Surgical Suite, and the Outpatient Clinic, as well as participate in practical sessions in the Experimental Surgery Unit, where they can complement their learning through clinical simulation techniques. Guided by specialized professionals, students will have the opportunity to gain direct experience in preoperative evaluation, intraoperative care, and postoperative follow-up of patients, consolidating their skills in a highly demanding technical and academic environment.
