Today, there is a demand for physicians trained in medical auditing in both public and private institutions. Healthcare needs to be effective, meaning it is delivered according to scientific evidence. Medical auditing is the approach that analyzes and verifies the practice of medicine in compliance with pre-established criteria. Furthermore, the separation of payers from providers necessitates mechanisms to monitor service delivery, ensuring it is efficient, safe, and effective.
The Postgraduate and Continuing Education Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Piura offers the Diploma in Medical Auditing to those interested, a program aimed at medical professionals who wish to acquire and/or consolidate skills to work as a medical auditor in both public and private health institutions.
Upon completion of the training process, the graduate is expected to acquire the following competencies:
- Promote the use of medical auditing as a tool for improving the quality of healthcare.
- Identify, evaluate and apply clinical practice guidelines in the practice of evidence-based medicine.
- Establish a systematic methodology to be applied in the evaluation of the technical quality of health care.
- Incorporate the process approach and patient safety into the practice of medical auditing.
The diploma course will be delivered online.
- The theoretical classes, synchronous practical sessions, and the development of various cases will be conducted through the Zoom platform.
- The development of thematic forums and application work will be carried out asynchronously through the virtual classroom.
- The two in-person sessions will be held at the facilities of the Faculty of Human Medicine of UDEP, Lima Campus (Miraflores).
