How long does Pre-Medicine last?
The duration of a regular edition is 18 weeks. Intensive editions last 9 and 4 weeks, respectively.
Can I enroll if I'm in my fourth year of secondary school or if I finished school several years ago?
Yes, there are no restrictions. The Pre-Medicine program is designed for students who are finishing or have recently graduated from high school. If you are in your final year of high school or over 20 years old, some considerations and benefits will apply. For more details, please request further information.
What is the study modality?
This year's format will be virtual and synchronous, using the Microsoft Teams platform.
What is the course evaluation system like?
The evaluation system for Pre-UDEP courses varies depending on the program edition. In editions 1, 2, 3, and 4, a total of six written and objective assessments are administered, distributed as follows: four Graded Assignments, one Midterm Exam, and one Final Exam. In edition 5, three assessments are administered: two Midterm Exams and one Final Exam; while in edition 6, the system is reduced to two assessments: one Midterm Exam and one Final Exam.
How are absences penalized?
According to the General Academic Operating Regulations of the University of Piura, absences are penalized as follows:
- From the 20% to the 30% of absence: 1 discount point
- More than 30% up to 40% of absence: 2 discount points
- More than 40% up to 50% of absence: 3 discount points
- More than 50% up to 60% of absence: 4 discount points
- More than 60% absences: 5 discount points
Important: Discounts are applied to the final average.
