  • Structural Biochemistry Course with emphasis on bacterial resistance proteins

The Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura, committed to the academic development of health professionals in Peru, launches this virtual course that aims to reinforce structural biochemical knowledge in the area of microbiology of bacterial resistance.

This course is aimed at professionals and students in the fields of Biology, Bioengineering, Medical Technology in clinical laboratories, Microbiology, Veterinary Medicine, and Human Medicine.

Competencies

General competence:

  • The participant who graduated from the course has the basic ability to design a work scheme for protein analysis and use the main bioinformatic tools in their structural analysis, with emphasis on the study of proteins that confer resistance to antimicrobials.

Specific competencies:

  • Identifies the main bioinformatics tools to carry out studies of amino acid sequences using BLAST and UNIPROT.
  • Recognize the main protein components based on the Pymol bioinformatic viewer.
  • Analyzes protein complexes with their ligands through molecular docking techniques.
