PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Research Internship project at the Polytechnic University of Madrid by student Javier Tuesta consisted of the development of research in the biomedical area for the design of personalized 3D splints. The purpose of this project was to promote the use of new technologies in the research, design and manufacture of 3D splints; learn more about additive manufacturing technologies (TFA) and compare different reverse engineering technologies for reconstruction of 3D objects. Through the case study of 3D printing splints, student Javier Tuesta from Udep participated in master classes of the Bioengineering course at the Polytechnic University of Madrid; In addition, he wrote a chapter for a bioengineering book and gave a presentation at the BIODEVICES 2022 international congress.

This experience will allow the contestant to propose innovative solutions to current Peruvian problems quickly, accurately and innovatively, because bioengineering is not a widely studied field in Peru.
