The Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia (UPTC) is a national public university, established on October 10, 1953. It currently has five campuses: Tunja (its main campus), Duitama, Sogamoso, Chiquinquirá, and Yopal. In addition, it offers six extension programs, 77 undergraduate degree programs (on-campus), 24 undergraduate distance learning programs, and 68 graduate programs.
The UPTC was created with the objective of emphasizing education, science and technology and is ranked number 11 among the best universities in Colombia (2021), according to the ranking carried out by Sapiens Research Group. Likewise, it is the fourteenth university in the country with the largest number of students, more than approximately 30,000.
