The University of Ibagué (UNIBAGUÉ), located in Colombia, was founded on August 27, 1980, by business leaders and civic leaders from Tolima under the name Corporación Universitaria de Ibagué (Coruniversitaria). Currently, it is a private, nonprofit higher education institution committed to regional and national development.
It has high-quality institutional accreditation, which supports its academic and administrative excellence.
Its mission is to train leaders and professionals with a solid scientific, ethical, and social background, focused on the well-being of the community. The university promotes values such as respect for human rights, participatory democracy, regional and national identity, ecological sustainability, and a commitment to quality. It is also notable for its focus on critical reflection, ideological pluralism, personal autonomy, and the internationalization of knowledge, with research as the fundamental axis of its academic work.
