UNIMINUTO is recognized for its educational project inspired by Christian humanism, which combines professional training with a strong social commitment. Since its founding in 1990, it has become one of the largest university systems in Colombia, with a presence in dozens of regions and an academic community of over 100,000 students.

The institution holds High-Quality Institutional Accreditation, granted by the Colombian Ministry of Education in 2024 for a period of six years, a distinction that highlights its academic excellence, impact, and the strength of its processes. Internationally, UNIMINUTO has received recognition such as the "Achievements in Inclusive Business" award from the Financial Times in 2013, and its educational model has been recognized by the World Bank's International Finance Corporation (IFC) as an innovative and socially impactful approach.

Finally, with face-to-face, virtual and distance learning programs, and more than one hundred certified research groups in the country.
