PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This collaboration consisted of the training of future science teachers and joint international research in science teaching. The work took shape in the design and execution of the interuniversity project on collaborative physics workshops, carried out by students of the subjects of Physics II and its didactics (2018-II) and Physics I and its didactics (2019-II) of the Udep together to the students of the Complutense University of Madrid and the Rey Juan Carlos University.
In 2018, the project focused on the design of school workshops on the themes of "light and color" and "electric circuits", addressing aspects such as their sequencing, contextualization and choice of materials. While, in 2019, the first objective focused on the resolution of three open problem situations: "Which paper absorbs the most?", "Which ball bounces the most?" and "Floating", using the MRPI (Problem Solving Methodology as Research) inquiry strategy. Finally, in both years, the second objective focused on the virtual pedagogical skills that future teachers must acquire, promoting collaborative work with groups of students from other countries through the use of Internet resources to solve professional problems.
l COIL demonized Whitaker Case: the first drug baby. Implication in medicine, ethics and law; A project in which students from the UDEP Law and UDEM Medical Surgeon and Midwife academic programs participated, had the purpose of obtaining dialogue skills in the face of the controversy behind genetic studies and manipulation of embryos. Through the study of the case of Jaime Whitaker, known as the first “medication baby”, we sought to analyze the usefulness, pros and cons of genetic studies; as well as existing techniques to correct genes associated with diseases.
