The University of Santander, UDES, is a private, non-profit institution that has four campuses nationwide: Bogotá, Cúcuta, Valledupar and the headquarters located in Bucaramanga. Currently, it presents a wide educational offer with more than 103 academic programs; with which it covers and responds to all the needs and trends of knowledge, science, technology and innovation.

The University of Santander, from its autonomy and in accordance with current regulations, adopts the principles of universality, academic excellence, intellectual freedom and transparency; that underpin institutional performance.

Likewise, it is the first most sustainable university in the Colombian Northeast, according to the UI GreenMetric World University Ranking and ranks 15th among the best Colombian universities in research, according to the Scimago Institutions Rankings.
