About the program

The specialization program in labor relations through jurisprudence is an academic offering designed for labor lawyers seeking to update and enhance their professional practice through a comprehensive overview of the main jurisprudential criteria applicable to labor relations in the private sector. Therefore, this program focuses on analyzing the most relevant decisions issued by national bodies: the Constitutional Court, the Supreme Court, the Labor Oversight Tribunal, the Tax Court, the National Authority for the Protection of Personal Data, and INDECOPI (National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property). It also analyzes the main criteria of international tribunals applicable or transferable to the Peruvian labor context: the Inter-American Court of Human Rights, the ILO supervisory bodies, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and the European Court of Human Rights.

 

Learning Objectives
  • Strengthen comprehensive and specialized knowledge in labor matters: Train participants in the analysis and application of national and international jurisprudence in the Peruvian labor field.
  • Understanding the control of conventionality in the labor field: Knowing the impact of the Inter-American human rights system on Peruvian labor regulation.
  • Stay up-to-date on new trends: Explore recent and relevant judicial and administrative decisions on topics such as: equal pay, personal data protection, the use of new technologies and corporate control, bureaucratic barriers in the workplace, taxation with labor impact, among others.
  • Develop critical skills: Prepare lawyers to understand and question judicial and administrative criteria.
  • Develop a preventive approach and respect for workers' rights in professional practice: prepare lawyers to respond to legal queries by anticipating possible negative consequences, with a vision of respect for labor rights.

 

Methodology and modality

The sessions will be led by prominent national and international professors specializing in the subject. The program will be offered in person at the Lima Campus or online via 100%. Three sessions will be held virtually on days and times different from the regular schedule. The program will combine lectures with case studies. Students will have 24/7 access to UDEP Virtual with materials and presentations provided by the instructor. The platform will be available only until the program's conclusion.

*Recorded sessions will not be given to participants, except in cases of absence duly justified due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure.

 

Certification

The program consists of 90 academic hours, 72 effective hours for 24 sessions (3 academic hours each), plus 18 hours of study of study material.

At the end of the program, the student will receive the certificate, which will be provided in digital format.

  • The digital certificate in the name of UDEP will indicate: Certificate awarded to the student “Names and Surnames” for having participated in the Specialization Program in Labor Relations through Jurisprudence, carried out in person from May 4 to August 5* of 2026, equivalent to 90 academic hours.

  • The certificate is granted provided that you have no outstanding debt with the university and comply with the 80% attendance registration requirement.

The certificates will be sent to the participants' email addresses in September 2026.
