Specialization program in
Maritime Law

The program

This program, in partnership with the Naval War College - Peruvian Navy, This course offers participants an overview of the most relevant aspects of maritime law related to shipping companies. The approach focuses on both private and public law regulations that every professional involved in the navigation and maritime transport sector needs to know.

Aimed at professionals linked to the maritime transport, fishing, navigation regulation and supervision sectors and in general to all those who carry out their professional work in aspects related to the maritime and naval field.

At the end of the course, participants will receive a certificate from the University of Piura, issued in digital format, indicating their specialization in Maritime Law.

Learning objectives

  • Understanding the main aspects of maritime law in the context of new technologies and legislative advances.
Methodology

Through an online class methodology, the program will be conducted through the presentation of a class by leading professionals specializing in the subject.

Students will have 24/7 access to the UDEP virtual classroom platform, where they will find the reading materials sent by the instructor. The platform will only be available until the end of the program.

*Recorded sessions will not be given to participants, except in cases of absence duly justified by unforeseen circumstances or force majeure.

Certification

The program consists of 120 academic hours, made up of 97 effective hours of classes (including seminars) plus 23 hours of research, work development and final presentation.

At the end of the program, the student will receive the certificate, which will be provided in digital format.

  • The digital certificate in the name of UDEP will indicate: Certificate awarded to the student “Names and Surnames” for having passed with a grade XX the Specialization Program in Maritime Law, carried out in online mode from August 17 to November 23, 2026*, equivalent to 120 academic hours.
  • The certificate of completion is awarded provided the participant passes the program, has no outstanding debt with the university, and meets the 80% attendance requirement.

 

*If you do not pass the program and have no debt with the university, you will be awarded a certificate for having participated. Certificates will be sent to participants' email addresses at the end of January 2027. The program end date may vary.
