Course: Training of Facilitators in Clinical Simulation – Level II

 The program

The Postgraduate and Continuing Education Unit of the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura, committed to the academic development of health professionals in the country, has developed this Clinical Simulation Facilitator Training Course – Level II aimed at teachers in charge of the training of health professionals, or aimed at teachers who provide education to health professionals, which aims to reinforce knowledge about planning, development and use of simulation as a learning strategy.

 

Goals

The course participant will expand their knowledge of clinical simulation methodology, with a more optimal mastery of debriefing, creating new learning opportunities during their practice.

Specifics:

  • It incorporates the concept of levels of reflection and how to achieve them.
  • It manages to design a simulation scenario based on objectives and/or competencies, establishing the tool or methodology to evaluate them.
  • Uses structured debriefing methodology and demonstrates mastery.
  • Assessment of technical and non-technical skills.
  • Optimal use of the simulated patient.
  • Recognizes and optimally handles difficult debriefing situations.

The program is aimed at health and education professionals who develop practices with clinical simulation.

 

Graduate profile

At the end of the training process, the graduate is expected to acquire the following skills.

  • To promote the development and use of clinical simulation as a teaching methodology, by designing a simulation scenario and recognizing and using the debriefing phases as formative assessment.

 

Requirements

It is required to have taken and passed the Clinical Simulation Facilitator Training Course – Level I.
