In today's world, culture and artistic heritage generate great interest in society, among citizens, the media, the business community and, increasingly, governments. At a time when technology bursts into social life at breakneck speed, many feel the need to look to the past and, in particular, to art. A consequence of this impulse is the interest in artistic studies.
Art is the expression of what happens in a period of history. Therefore, art can only be understood within that social context, because the human being determines its importance; art itself also intervenes in various aspects of society. That is why to study it, a comprehensive approach is needed that covers all these aspects and that, in turn, has a scientific basis.
The Diploma in Artistic Studies offers that different approach. It allows the student to accurately communicate the diverse artistic expressions of all periods, conduct research, make comparisons between cultures and generate a critical perspective.
