History of Art and Culture I

This course provides a contextual introduction to the history of Western art and culture, particularly the visual arts, from classical antiquity to the Renaissance. Using key artists, artworks, and artistic styles as a basis, it explores conceptual, methodological, and theoretical issues concerning visual culture, paying particular attention to historical, literary, philosophical, and socioeconomic connections.

Anthropology of culture and art

This course aims to provide students with an introduction to the discipline of anthropology applied to the arts. It discusses culture, the origins of art, religion, identity, and diversity, along with the challenges associated with contemporary society.
