He International Program for Medical StudentsHumana, offered by US-Clerkships&Internships: Texas-Houston It includes a 4-week stay.
Through this program, students have the opportunity to learn, collaborate and refine their clinical skills guided by prestigious professors and expert tutors from the US-C&I staff.
With excellent teaching, participants are integrated into the best experiences of the American health system, both in the tutor's office and in the hospital service to which the expert belongs, in various medical specialties.
The selected students will complete rotations under the supervision of medical tutors belonging to the staff, both in hospitals and in outpatient centers, guaranteeing a high level of training.

- To enhance clinical reasoning for diagnosis and treatment of pathologies in different health contexts, enriching the experience of students facing complex and challenging medical situations.
- To provide a comprehensive understanding of the organization of and access to care in health systems, like that of the United States, promoting skills that facilitate performance in international environments.
- Encourage interaction with patients from diverse sociocultural backgrounds, strengthening the capacity for communication and effective relationships in a multicultural context.
- Promoting a global vision of health, reinforcing the humanistic training of students and their ability to provide empathetic and holistic care.
Students of the Professional School of Human Medicine who meet the following requirements:
- Have a valid enrollment in the 2026-I academic period.
- He is currently in at least his 4th year of studies.
- With a weighted average greater than or equal to 13.
- International training experience in specialized clinical settings, which enriches professional training and broadens the academic and cultural perspective of the participating student.
- Professional and international projectionThe experience allows students to strengthen their academic and professional profile, expanding their intercultural skills, their network of contacts in the international medical field, and their opportunities for future postgraduate programs abroad.
- Official certificate of participation, awarded by the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura upon completion of the training stay, which supports the academic and clinical experience acquired.

Texas – Houston, USA.
Houston, the fourth largest city in the United States, offers an exceptional academic and cultural environment for international clinical experiences. The rotation lasts for 4 weeks:
- From July 13 to August 8, 2026.
The schedule for carrying out activities will be established by US.C&I according to the tutor's role; most are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., depending on the assigned medical area. This may include morning or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday.

- Those designated by the destination institution, once the student has been admitted.
- Application feeUS$ 100. (non-refundable). Only students previously selected by UDEP may apply.
- Clinical rotation fee: US$ 1,050.00 for a period of 4 weeks, in specialty assigned, (without option to choose the selected one).)
- Clinical rotation fee: US$ 1,260.00 for a period of 4 weeks, in specialty chosen by the selected one.
All payments are made directly to US-C&I, according to their established processes.
In addition, accepted students will be responsible for covering their transportation, food, and living expenses in the host city, as well as purchasing international health insurance. For this process, selected students will follow US-C&I procedures, which include signing a contract.

The application, selection, and acceptance process will take place on the following dates:
- Reception of applications and documentation: until April 15, 2026.
- File evaluation and interviewsApril 30, 2026.
- Publication of the list of students nominated by the WFHMay 4, 2026.
- Notification of US-C&I nomineesMay 4, 2026.
- Initiation of procedures with the US-C&I for the allocation of places in clinical areas: from May 5, 2026.
- Acceptance of the place by the selected candidates: from the day they complete their procedures with US-C&I.
The receipt of files will be carried out in a virtual until the April 15, 2026, through the online application enabled by the Interinstitutional Relations and Internationalization Unit (UREINI).

The application must include the following mandatory documents:
- Application form for the student mobility program, with the applicant student's data.
- Cover letter, addressed to the Director of the Professional School of the Faculty of Human Medicine, indicating the student's personal data and a brief explanation of the reasons that led him to apply to the Student Mobility Program.
- Curriculum vitae of the applicant, sin documentar (maximum 2 pages).
- Academic record or certificate that proves the required cumulative index.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring the truthfulness and authenticity of the data and documents submitted.
Applications submitted after the deadline or that do not meet all the required criteria will not be accepted.
The selection process consists of two phases:
- First phase (UDEP):
The Evaluation Committee of the Faculty of Human Medicine reviews the submitted documentation, evaluates the candidates, and conducts personal interviews to understand their motivation, academic background, and expectations regarding the exchange program. Based on this evaluation, the list of students nominated to apply to US-C&I is published.
- Second phase (US-C&I):
Nominated students will need to complete their clinical rotation request according to the US-C&I process.
Final acceptance is subject to the final evaluation carried out by the US-C&I, which reserves the right to admit or not admit applicants.
The accepted student must submit the Commitment to accept vacancy, which must be duly completed and signed within the established timeframe.
Nominated students must attach the following documents:
- Tourist visa (B1-B2) for the United States of America, valid
- Valid passport.
- Academic transcript.
These documents are essential for submitting the official nomination to US-C&I and will be given to the students nominated by UREINI during the first phase of the process.
Subsequently, once the US-C&I Confirm acceptance, submission of additional documents:
- CV in English
- Certificate of English at a conversational level (advanced).
- HIPAA Certification
- Background check
- Health insurance that covers major expenses in the USA and includes COVID-19 coverage.
- Limited liability insurance coverage in the United States that covers at least $10,000.
- Proof or complete vaccination card that includes COVID-19.
You may be required to wear an institutional uniform designed by US-C&I.

Students who leave the Student Mobility Program without justification, after being evaluated and accepted, will be excluded without the possibility of participating in future calls, and may be subject to a penalty, depending on the call.
Offenses during the application process or during the validity of student mobility will be sanctioned in accordance with the Regulations of Disciplinary Measures for students of the University of Piura.
