International Rotation - Padre Hurtado Hospital - UDD Chile

Thanks to the inter-institutional alliance between the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura (UDEP) and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Development (UDD), UDEP Human Medicine students can carry out an international clinical rotation at the Padre Hurtado Hospital (HPH), one of the main healthcare and teaching centers in Chile.

He Padre Hurtado Hospital, Located in the San Ramón district (Santiago, Chile), it is a high-complexity public hospital and the main clinical site of the UDD Faculty of Medicine. Its healthcare-teaching model promotes comprehensive, humanized, and evidence-based medical care, integrating clinical practice with academic training and applied research.

During this experience, UDEP students actively integrate into the hospital's healthcare teams, participating in clinical activities, academic sessions, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities. The internship allows them to strengthen their professional skills, broaden their understanding of the Chilean healthcare system, and enrich their medical training from an intercultural and global perspective.

This rotation is part of the international academic mobility program of the Faculty of Human Medicine UDEP, aimed at offering educational experiences in institutions of excellence that strengthen the quality of teaching and the ethical, scientific and social commitment of future doctors.

Important note: Placement will be based on hospital availability and the specialties offered. Therefore, students may not necessarily be assigned to their preferred specialty.

• Develop clinical, ethical, and communication skills necessary for the comprehensive care of the patient.
• To foster the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams, in the context of the Chilean health system.
• Promote a critical, reflective, and continuous learning attitude, based on scientific evidence and clinical experience.

Students of the Professional School of Human Medicine who meet the following requirements:

• Having successfully completed the 5th year of studies.
• Have a cumulative index equal to or greater than 13.
• Have a valid enrollment in the 2026-II academic period.

• Enrich academic and clinical-surgical training through immersion in a highly complex hospital environment, specializing in the comprehensive management of the patient.
• Join a multidisciplinary healthcare team, observing a comprehensive and humanized approach of the patient in an international context.
• Receive a certificate of participation, awarded by the Faculty of Human Medicine of the University of Piura, which accredits the training experience.

Padre Hurtado Hospital (Santiago, Chile)

He Padre Hurtado Hospital (HPH) It is a high-complexity public hospital located in the San Ramón district of Santiago, Chile. It is part of the Metropolitan South East Health Service's Healthcare Network and is one of the country's leading teaching hospitals, thanks to its clinical agreement with the Clínica Alemana – Universidad del Desarrollo Faculty of Medicine.

The hospital has a broad and modern portfolio of clinical services, covering both pediatric and adolescent care as well as adult care, integrating medical, surgical and diagnostic and therapeutic support specialties.

Thanks to its infrastructure, diverse services, and commitment to medical training, the Padre Hurtado Hospital offers an ideal clinical environment for practical learning and the integration of students into multidisciplinary health teams, reinforcing the academic and professional training of future doctors.

• The clinical rotation will take place from January 4 to 29, 2027, and from February 1 to 26, 2027.
• The schedule for carrying out activities will be established by Universidad del Desarrollo, according to the assigned medical area. This may include morning or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of supplementary academic sessions and supervised practical activities.

The application, selection, and acceptance process will take place on the following dates:

• Document and application submission deadline: October 23, 2026.
• Evaluation of files and interviews: Until November 6, 2026.
• Publication of accepted students: November 6, 2026.
• Submission of commitment to accept vacancy: until November 20, 2026.

The receipt of files will be carried out in a virtual up to andOctober 23, 2026, through the online application enabled by the Interinstitutional Relations and Internationalization Unit (UREINI).

Application Form for the Student Mobility Program, Call for Applications 2026 – II

The application must include the following mandatory documents:

• APPLICATION FORM, with the applicant student's data

• Cover letter, addressed to the Director of the Professional School of Human Medicine, indicating the student's personal data and a brief explanation of the reasons that led him to apply to the Student Mobility Program and indicating specialty(ies) with intention to rotate.

• Curriculum vitae, undocumented (maximum 2 pages).

• Academic record or certificate that proves the required cumulative index.

Applicants are responsible for ensuring the truthfulness and authenticity of the data and documents submitted.

Applications submitted after the deadline or that do not meet all the required criteria will not be accepted.

The selection process is the responsibility of the Evaluation Committee, and consists of two phases:

• First phase:

Evaluation of the submitted documentation and the qualification of the candidates.

• Second phase:

Interviews with applicants.

The evaluation considers the student's motivation, academic trajectory, plans during the mobility period, and adaptability to optimize their experience in the program.

The results of the call will be communicated through your institutional emails.

The accepted student must submit the Commitment to accept vacancy,el cual debe estar debidamente completado y firmado dentro del plazo establecido.

He also agrees to comply with the requirements requested by the Institution, including:

• Valid passport (no less than 6 months old)
• Complete vaccination record including COVID.
• International Insurance.
• Those requested by the Institution.

Students who leave the Student Mobility Program without justification, after being evaluated and accepted, will be excluded without the possibility of participating in future calls, and may be subject to a penalty, depending on the call.

Offenses during the application process or during the validity of student mobility will be sanctioned in accordance with the Regulations of Disciplinary Measures for students of the University of Piura.
