Hospital clinical rotations are an essential part of the training of Health Sciences students, such as Human Medicine, as they allow the application of knowledge acquired at university in a real environment.
In the University of the Andes Clinic, Students actively integrate into the healthcare team, observing and participating in patient care under professional supervision.
During their stay, They rotate through different areas according to their choice and the availability offered, applying the knowledge acquired at the university in a real clinical environment and strengthening clinical, ethical, communication and teamwork skills.
Please note that the specialties of Dermatology, Urology, and Gynecology and Obstetrics are not available within the institution's clinical rotation offer.
- Recognize and understand innovative clinical practices and medical techniques through direct observation of procedures in a highly complex hospital environment, in order to expand and consolidate the knowledge acquired during university training.
- To analyze the functioning, organization, and access to services in an international health system, developing a comprehensive vision of healthcare from a comparative and global perspective.
- Develop communication and interpersonal skills by interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams in a diverse sociocultural environment, strengthening empathy, respect and the ability to work in multicultural contexts.
Students of the Professional School of Human Medicine who meet the following requirements:
- Have a valid enrollment in the 2026-II academic period.
- Be enrolled in at least the fourth year of the degree program.
- Have a weighted average equal to or greater than 13.
- International training experience in specialized clinical settings: enriching professional training by offering a broader perspective than is available locally.
- Joint certification: At the end of the training stay, students will receive an official certificate issued by the Clínica Universidad de los Andes and the Universidad de Piura, which supports their participation and performance during the rotation.
- Professional and international projection: The experience allows the student to strengthen their academic and professional profile, expanding their intercultural skills, their network of contacts in the international medical field and their opportunities for future postgraduate programs abroad.

The University of the Andes Clinic, Located in Santiago, Chile, it is the main teaching and healthcare center of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of the Andes. It stands out for its academic excellence, highly complex medical care, and humanized approach, establishing itself as one of the leading options in Latin America for international students and patients.
It has a team of highly qualified professionals who supervise the clinical training of undergraduate students, residents, and international interns. It develops medical and dental specialization programs, subspecialties, and postgraduate degrees, and maintains international agreements with institutions in countries such as Peru, Argentina, Mexico, Brazil, Spain, the USA, and Germany.
The quality of care at the Clinic has been recognized with first place nationally in the ranking Latam Best Hospitals and holds international certifications such as HUCI (humanized intensive care) and ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery), being the only accredited center in Chile.
All clinical activities are carried out with the patient's authorization and under strict teaching supervision, in an infrastructure designed to guarantee safety, quality, privacy and respect for the patient's rights, in accordance with current regulations.
- The rotation will take place from January 11 to February 5, 2027.
- The schedule for carrying out activities will be established by the University of Los Andes, according to the assigned medical area. This may include morning or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of supplementary academic sessions and supervised practical activities.

- Clinical rotation No It has no academic cost from the University of Los Andes or the University of Piura.
- The student will be responsible for any additional expenses related to administrative or personal procedures that may be required at the host institution.
- The accepted student will cover the costs of transportation and accommodation in the destination city, as well as the costs associated with obtaining medical insurance with international coverage.

The application, selection, and acceptance process will take place on the following dates:
- Applications accepted until September 4, 2026.
- Interviews until September 14, 2026.
The receipt of files will be carried out in a virtual until the September 4, 2026, at 11:00 PM, through the online application process enabled by the Interinstitutional Relations and Internationalization Unit (UREINI).
Application Form for the Student Mobility Program, Call for Applications 2026 – II
The application must include the following mandatory documents:
- Application Form with the applicant student's data.
- Cover letter, addressed to the Director of the Professional School of the Faculty of Human Medicine, indicating the student's personal data and a brief explanation of the reasons that led him to apply to the Student Mobility Program.
- Curriculum vitae, undocumented (maximum 2 pages).
- Academic record or certificatethat proves the required cumulative index.
Applicants are responsible for ensuring the truthfulness and authenticity of the data and documents submitted.
Applications submitted after the deadline or that do not meet all the required criteria will not be accepted.
The selection process consists of two phases:
- First phase (UDEP):
The Evaluation Committee of the Faculty of Human Medicine reviews the submitted documentation, assesses the candidates, and conducts personal interviews to understand their motivation, academic background, and expectations regarding the exchange program. Following this evaluation, the list of selected candidates is published.
- Second phase (UANDES):
Nominated students must complete their rotation application through the Universidad de Los Andes web portal. UANDES will evaluate each application and reserves the right to accept or reject nominated applicants.
If accepted, the University of Los Andes will issue official confirmation of the rotation., including the location and clinical service assigned based on availability.
Acceptance is subject to the availability of places and the final evaluation by UANDES, which reserves the right to accept or not accept applicants.
The accepted student must submit the COMMITMENT TO ACCEPTANCE, which must be duly completed and signed within the established timeframe.
You must also attach the following documents:
- Simple copy of the valid and current National Identity Document.
- Simple copy of international health insurance that covers health throughout their stay.
- Simple copy of complete vaccination card, in accordance with the requirements requested by UANDES (including, for example, vaccines such as hepatitis B and influenza).
Students who leave the Student Mobility Program without justification, after being evaluated and accepted, will be excluded without the possibility of participating in future calls, and may be subject to a penalty, depending on the call.
Offenses during the application process or during the validity of student mobility will be sanctioned in accordance with the Regulations of Disciplinary Measures for students of the University of Piura.
