The University of Piura, concerned with the social interests that every citizen should have in a democratic society, presents the first edition of its Diploma in Civic Responsibility (online format). The Faculty of Humanities, committed to the development and fostering of civic values, offers this initiative, welcoming those who seek to become aware of and understand the key dimensions for actively and comprehensively assuming commitment and responsibility as citizens, with a view to sustainable development in their own local community.

The Diploma, which is characterized by its interdisciplinary nature, is aimed at professionals from diverse areas such as education (primary schools, secondary schools and universities), law, management of public and private companies, public officials, professionals from the cultural and public sector, or anyone interested who wishes to get involved and learn more about the dimensions of their role as citizens or complete their training in: Citizenship, Civic Ethics, Law, Politics, Democracy and State Theory.

As it is an online program, it also seeks to provide this study opportunity to people who do not find these contents or this perspective in a nearby university center or who, in any case, cannot complete an in-person program for various reasons. The international nature of the program is also manifested in the presence of recognized experts as teachers, from universities in various countries.
