Diploma in Literature - II Edition

The breadth of the object of study of Literature is variable. In school and university education, its parameters are established depending on the language and the political territory, from which national literatures result as thematic axes into which literary knowledge is divided. And it is the national perspective that prevails in the education of Spanish-speaking countries. This Diploma, open to students from anywhere in the world, complements this vision with a broader and transversal perspective, which contemplates Literature as a transnational process and studies in detail the most important common aspects in which different national literatures and their works participate. as well as the relationships between Literature and other arts.

As it is an online program, it also seeks to provide this study opportunity to people who do not find these contents or this perspective in a nearby university center or who, in any case, cannot complete an in-person program for various reasons. The international nature of the program is also manifested in the presence of recognized experts as teachers, from universities in various countries.

Aim

  • Train highly qualified professionals, with knowledge of Literature, who can work in the different spaces of the sector: university and school teaching, research, literary archives, museums, etc.
  • Provide interested parties with the necessary tools for the analysis of literary texts. And expand the scope of analysis of those already initiated in the task.
  • Develop research and theoretical and applied reflection in this field, and collaborate in improving the professional level, efficiency and internationalization of the sector.

Applicant profile

Interested literary scholars, especially people who have followed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Philology focused on national literature and teachers, schoolchildren or university students, who wish to complete their knowledge with a universal and comparative approach. All people with an interest in Literature, with intellectual curiosity and open to exchange with teachers and other students from different countries can take the Diploma.

Highly qualified professionals with knowledge of Literature, who can work in the different spaces of the sector: university and school teaching, research, literary archives, museums, etc.

Work methodology

The Diploma in Comparative Literature (Online Mode) will be developed through the UDEP Virtual Platform. The participant will have a username and password to access the program.

Each course is organized as follows:

  • Week 1: Analysis of the proposed materials. Participants will watch the videos of each teacher and analyze the proposed materials.
  • Week 2: Participation in chats/forums. During this stage it will be necessary to enter the platform and actively participate in the debates presented.
  • Weeks 3 and 4: Preparation, delivery and evaluation of the works. Each teacher establishes the evaluation modality and the conditions for delivery and evaluation of their subject.

Duration: 10 months

Schedule
As it is a virtual program, the participant will be able to access the platform and corresponding material at any time they wish, once their username is activated. Taking into account that it is essential that you enter the system to be notified and notified in time in the diploma forum regarding the activities or tasks previously established by the teachers.

Obtaining the degree
The participant may receive the corresponding certification by fully passing the subjects and presenting a final project.
