The "Dynamization of the Regional Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Ecosystem of Piura (DER)" project aims to activate R&D ecosystems with a development plan co-financed by Innóvate Perú and agreed upon by key stakeholders in the region.

Currently, it has 33 projects identified to close regional gaps, impacting more than 900 people, and executing six high-impact subprojects.

The project seeks to improve soft skills in basic education students through the incorporation of ICT in Regular Basic Education. The project covers 1,125 fifth grade students from 27 educational institutions in Piura, Sullana and Paita.

The project that was developed from 2016 to 2018 was promoted by the Piura Regional Government, University of Piura, Ministry of Education and Regional Directorate of Education.

A regional economic transformation strategy was developed towards 2032 to turn Piura into a more competitive region and achieve sustainable economic and social development, based on knowledge and innovation. The project was financed by CONCYTEC and developed in conjunction with the Regional Government of Piura, the National University of Piura and the Chamber of Commerce and Production of Piura.
