Organization

Research Council of the University of Piura

It is a consultative body currently made up of members of the Faculties of Economic and Business Sciences, Communication, Law, Education, Humanities, Medicine, Engineering and the PAD – School of Management.

Among the functions of the Research Council is to give suggestions and recommendations to proposals on policies and in general topics related to research, at the request of the Vice-Rector for Research.

Publications address

Among its functions are: supporting the editing and monitoring of scientific journals, managing the Open Journal System, developing and executing the commercial development and distribution plan for UDEP publications.

Library

Among its functions is: providing electronic resources and databases for research by teachers and students. It houses the repository of the university's scientific and academic production and makes this medium available to the community in general.

HUB UDEP Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center

Its main function is to promote and support the innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology ecosystem in the northern region of Peru through projects that contribute to the development of society.
The Entrepreneurship Incubator, the PAD (Angel Investor Network), the Technology Transfer and Projects Office are the areas that comprise it and seek, in a unified manner, to promote a community based on collaboration, commitment, and constant growth.

Research Directorate

Among the functions are: developing norms and policies to promote research, promoting the dissemination of research results, designing mechanisms to promote funding from the University itself for priority research.

The research director also coordinates with the International Relations department to promote research networks, research stays and other actions for the internationalization of research.

Researcher Support and Research Registry Office (OAIRI)

Its functions include: managing and updating scientific records on the University's official platforms (SIGA and Pirhua), supporting the formulation of research projects and keeping statistical information on scientific production updated.

Innovation Directorate

Its objective is to strengthen UDEP's relationship with the regional, national, and international productive sectors, as well as with the state, in order to contribute to the transfer of technology and the knowledge generated to society.

Transfer and Innovation Support Center (CATI)

Its main function is to provide assistance in the search for scientific and technical information to teachers, researchers and users in the CATI's sphere of influence.
