Presentation

In Peru, culture occupies a strategic place within both the public and private sectors, serving as a driver of social cohesion and sustainable development. Its management is not limited to the Ministry of Culture or national agencies that coordinate policies and programs; it also extends to regional and municipal governments, as well as private companies, foundations, and non-profit organizations. In all these spheres, the presence of professionals specializing in cultural management is essential to ensure robust and efficient institutional processes. 

The complexity of cultural governance demands specialists capable of understanding the dynamics of the public sector and, at the same time, applying management tools that strengthen private and non-profit institutions. Therefore, comprehensive academic training is required to enable participants to analyze management models, identify best practices, and design creative and innovative solutions that address the challenges of sustainability and efficiency in the cultural sector. 

Beyond broadening the horizon of knowledge, the Diploma in Management of Cultural Institutions It seeks to consolidate a community of cultural managers committed to institutional strengthening, innovation in public policy, and the sustainability of cultural organizations. This academic program responds to the Peruvian context and offers professionals the opportunity to enter the workforce in a growing sector, contributing to the development of a more inclusive and culturally dynamic country. 

Goals

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • To provide participants with the theoretical and practical knowledge to manage cultural institutions in the public and private sectors.
  • To learn about real-world experiences in cultural management at different levels of government, as well as in private organizations.
  • To characterize the management models applied in public, private and associative cultural institutions.
  • Apply public and private management tools to strengthen cultural institutions and promote their growth in the sector.
  • Certify their academic training, accrediting skills that position them as specialists in the field.
Addressed to

Professionals from Lima and other regions currently working in the public or private cultural sector. Cultural entrepreneurs with a strategic vision who want to grow their businesses. Professionals nationwide with ties to and interest in working in the cultural sector.

Methodology

The course will be delivered via the CANVAS platform (for reviewing materials) and ZOOM (for synchronous classes). Participants will receive a username and password to access the materials. 

The dynamics of the Diploma course are as follows: 

  • Review of reading material and videos from teachers.  
  • Active participation in synchronous classes.  
  • Preparation, submission, and evaluation of assignments. Each professor establishes the evaluation method for their module.
