Colloquium

History Students

Presentation

The UDEP History Students' Colloquium presents its 2026 edition, opening its call for submissions to all students and graduates of History, Archaeology, Anthropology, and related fields nationwide, with the aim of fostering debate and exchange among students, graduates, and university faculty. The theme of this year's colloquium is regional history; therefore, attention is given, though not exclusively, to research that prioritizes local dynamics and phenomena.

Important Dates

The event will take place on March 26 and 27, 2026, in the city of Piura and will allow for presentations in a virtual format. The deadline for submitting proposals is February 13, 2026.

Special guest

One of the highlights of the colloquium is the keynote address. This year it will be given by Dr. Carlos Contreras, a full-time professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (Lima). Dr. Contreras holds a doctorate in History from El Colegio de México and specializes in economic history. He is the co-author of the book History of contemporary Peru, which has several editions.
