This conference is part of the activities carried out by the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Piura, through the Bicentennial Project, started in 2012, and whose sole purpose has been to create an academic space, with interdisciplinary content, that allows us to address the study and reflection, both of the processes of consolidation of independence in Peru, and of the projections of our republican history starting from the battle of Ayacucho.

Learn about the Bicentennial Project

In 2012, from the Institute of Humanistic Studies of the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Piura, we set out to generate a space for academic exchange and reflection, thus preparing ourselves for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of Peru's independence.

With the congress “Peru after the Battle of Ayacucho”, this bicentennial project culminates, which has been an invaluable opportunity to reflect, from the humanities, not only on past events in our country, but, above all, to discover who we are now and to deepen the meaning of our identity as an independent and sovereign nation.

From the Bicentennial Project, the result of the work of researchers and university professors, we share the record of activities and publications.
