Bachelor's Academic Degree

 

It is the recognition of the training that the University grants to the graduate, having met the requirements set out in the University Law (hereinafter LU), and those established by the University and the faculty from which they graduated. The University grants it through the Superior Council Agreement.

Degree Requirements

To request the granting of a Bachelor's Degree

  1. Be a graduate and have passed 220 for Architecture or 222 credits for Engineering.
  2. Prove knowledge of the English language, or another foreign language, or native language. The required level of English is Upper I for Architecture and Intermediate II for Engineering.
  3. Develop and approve a research work (IT).
  4. Accredit the development of pre-professional practices.

 

 

To request the issuance of the Bachelor's Degree diploma, the following requirements are required:

  1. Have an Agreement from the Higher Council to obtain the corresponding Bachelor's Degree.
  2. Present the issuance request respective.

Research Work (IT)

The engineering faculty has approved the following modalities:

1. Research work within a Faculty course.

Each academic program will have a list of courses, in which the work completed in them can be considered IT to obtain the bachelor's degree. The course professor will be the IT advisor, although a co-advisor or another advisor could be appointed, in coordination with the program director. The work plan, prepared by the graduate(s) and approved by the advisor, will have a duration of one academic semester and will not have an extension period. In this modality, it is enough to approve the work and not necessarily the course that houses it. The work may only be placed in the repository as a research work, and not as a course work.

2. Research work proposed by a professor from the Faculty of Engineering.

The topic proposed by a professor of the Faculty of Engineering must have the prior approval of the director of the academic program to which the work is directed. These works can conclude in a scientific article or Short paper presented by the students. The proposing teacher will be the TI advisor to obtain the baccalaureate, although a co-advisor or another advisor could be designated, in coordination with the program director. The work plan, prepared by the graduate and approved by the advisor, will have a duration of one year and may have an extension period of 2 months.

 

To present the original of the Research Work (TI), it is a requirement:

  • Be a student between the 8th and 10th cycle of your academic program.

A. Research Work Plan

  1. Research Work Plan, is presented to the faculty secretary, must wait for approval. See Thesis Plan or Research Work Criteria
  2. Plan Approval Request of the Research Work. For works that can be developed in a group of maximum 5 members, the submission of a joint application is accepted.

All this documentation must be recorded by the IT coordinator in the following Form. For any questions send email to federico.wiesse@udep.edu.pe.

  1. The IT plan presented by the author(s) of the plan will be reviewed and, if approved by the advisor, it will be registered in the corresponding record of Research Works of the Faculty. Plans that are disapproved are not recorded and their authors will be notified.
  2. Registration gives the graduate an established deadline, depending on the modality of the TI. Once the deadline has expired without you having completed your submission, your registration will automatically expire.
  3. Depending on the modality, the deadline may be extended by the competent body upon request of the graduating student with the favorable opinion of the advisor.

B. Approval of the research work

The final work must be delivered to your advisor, for approval on the designated dates, accompanied by the following documents:

  1. The research work must follow the standards already established by the Faculty according to the Faculty of Engineering style regulations 2020
  2. Present the Application for Approval of Research Work to obtain a bachelor's degree with a no-debt seal.
  3. Once the final work is approved without observations, the following is presented:

-Digital version of the TI in Word and PDF formats, identical to the printed one, except for the insertion of the watermark with the shield of the University of Piura in PDF format.

– Affidavit of authenticity of the TI. In the event that the TI has been prepared as a group, each author must sign a separate authorization.

IT Fact Sheet in Spanish and English, with a maximum of 500 words. If the document is invoked with a confidentiality period, this must be a non-confidential summary of said information.

-The token Authorization for open access publication in the PIRHUA institutional repository It must be correctly completed and signed by the author, expressing agreement with its presentation in the Pirhua institutional repository. In the event that the TI has been prepared as a group, each author must sign a separate authorization. These files must be duly authorized by the faculty secretary.

-The originality report signed by the author(s) and the advisor. Turnitin report.

 

The set of all the documentation detailed above will be called the Research Work File. The IT coordinator must register their Final Work in the following form and each member must enter the documents required in the following form.

The Advisor sends the IT Approval Record to the Faculty Secretary.

NOTE: When face-to-face activities are restarted at UDEP, a physical copy of the IT must be presented in the format established by the University and communicated by the Faculty.

The registration of the approved final works will be the responsibility of the Faculty Secretary.

C. Documentation for the Bachelor's Degree

 

Documentation for the Bachelor's Degree in Faculty Secretary

Once the requirements to obtain a bachelor's degree have been completed, the graduate must present the following documents to the Faculty Secretary:

1. Request for the granting of a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Engineering (Civil, Industrial and Systems or Mechanical-Electrical), addressed to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering.

2. Copy of the payment receipt for the corresponding academic fee in case of payments made to banking entities, or, stating the date and transaction number in case of payment made to the University.

3. Fill out the following personal forms:

4. At least one (1) passport size photograph (5.5 x 4.2 cm) in color or black and white, if the graduate expressly requests to include his/her photograph in the degree diploma. Consider the following features:

• Men in suits and women in suits with sleeves and no necklines.
• On MATTE, POROUS QUALITY CARDBOARD (not shiny), place names on the back.
• On a white background and from the front.
• Take into account the distribution of the image, which must be proportional (the face must not occupy the entire photo).
• The image must be as sharp as possible.

With this documentation, the Higher Council Agreement corresponding to the Bachelor's Degree is managed.

 

 

 

 

Requirements to obtain the bachelor's academic degree (Online Mode)
