The objectives of the Academic Program of Economics are:

• To train professionals with a high level of economical theory and politics, with an outstanding comprensión of enterpreneurial finances and the country’s socio-economical reality.

• To train researchers to analyze the direct and indirect action variables of companies and to contribute with solution alternatives to the problems found.

• To train people with solid moral values who will put their abilities at the service of their workteam.

The graduate economist from the Universidad de Piura is oriented towards enterpreneurial finances. He/She has the capacity to conduct himself efficiently in economical activities within the nation and internationally.

This professional is able to work in companies belonging to the financial syste, services or consultants, public and private investment projects, institutes of economical and social investigation, Non-governmental organizations and multilateral organisms of integration.
