The career of Civil Engineering at the Universidad de Piura allows students to be professionals with technical-scientific and humanistic criteria to apply technological resources in the planning, designing, construction and control or works, in the hopes of contributing to the progress, development and/or technical-economical transformation of the region and the country.

A civil engineer designs, builds and supervises structures which satisfy basic needs such as housing, potable water, transport (building of bridges, roads), among others, which are of fundamental importance for the development and progress of the population.

Specialized Training

• Orientation towards the análisis, design and building of structures (houses, buildings, bridges, etc.)
• Training for the planning, better usage and handling of hydraulic resources, through the design and building of dams, channels, potable water systems, among others.
• The faculty trains civil engineers in a culture of preservation of the environment, as well as in the evaluation of the environmental impacts of engineering works.
• Training for the planning, designing, buildind and directing of road and transport projects.
• Training for the management of companies in the building field.
